The girls and I get out of the house almost every day. We go on walks, go to library time, the toddler gym, the park, the store, etc. At first, I was so intimidated to take the girls out of the house, worried I wouldn’t be able to handle them, but I’ve found these three essential items (+ low expectations. Ha!) help to make outings with kids so much easier.

Double Stroller: The UPPAbaby VISTA is our absolute favorite stroller. We love it for so many reasons. It’s easy to fold up, has a big basket under the seat for extra storage, and it easily grows with our family. When we only had Hazel, we just used it in the one seat configuration, but now that we have Iris, we’ve added to it to accommodate both girls. When Iris was a tiny newborn, we set it up in the bassinet + toddler seat position. And now that she’s a little older, we use the toddler seat with an infant insert for Iris + the RumbleSeat for Hazel. We also added the PiggyBack board so Hazel can stand and ride along with the stroller. She loves it because she can look at Iris while riding along. Having the two options for Hazel (sitting or standing) makes our outings so much easier! She likes to be on the move, so letting her switch between spots helps to keep her happy and lessen the amount of meltdowns she has when we’re out. We also love that the seats can change position…Not only do they have the ability to recline, but we can also choose if we want them to face us or face outward. Right now, I have Iris’ seat face us so we can keep an eye on her while she’s in the stroller, but once she gets older, we’ll flip it around to face outward so she can see the surroundings. The fact that this stroller not only grows with the child, but with the entire family makes it perfect for outings with one, two, or three kids for years!

Backpack Diaper Bag: Keeping my hands free is key when dealing with two kids under the age of two. With a backpack diaper bag, I can have everything I need organized and easily accessible while still having the freedom to use my arms. You can see what I keep in my diaper bag here.

Gathre Leather Mat: This leather mat is perfect for picnics in the park, diaper changes, play mat for baby, etc. It’s lightweight and so easy to wipe clean. I keep it in the lower basket of our UPPAbaby VISTA stroller so we have it wherever we are.

XO, Kacie
