Lopsided Confession

By | Uncategorized | 50 Comments
 {Jeans: similar; Necklace: similar; Shoes: similar; Bag: The Sak}

I feel like I need to confess something. I’ve been trying to hide it and keep is a secret from you for a while now but here goes…my hair is lopsided. The right side is about an inch longer that the left. I have been trying to tilt my head a little so that you can’t tell. I even cut the longer side myself about a month and a half ago to even it out but it just grew longer again. Apparently, my left side just can’t keep up with the right. Don’t worry, I finally got around to making an appointment with my hairdresser (but since I live 2.5 hours away from her I have to wait until the 25th). And trust me, it gets pretty tiring walking around with your head tilted to one side.

P.S. Again, just ignore the wrinkles 😉

Droopy Eye

I have been addicted to the Olympics for the past two weeks. Which means that I have been staying up until midnight every night because of course, they save the events that you really want to watch for last. And let me tell you, I am not a night person. I never have been. Even as a baby, I was an excellent sleeper; one of the many reasons I was the angel child (just don’t ask my parents or sister to confirm that statement).

When I’m sleepy, I get a droopy eye. My one eye just does not want to stay open. So for the past week+ , I have been walking around with a droopy eye. And that is why I’m not looking at the camera in these pictures. I’m trying to hide it. I just have until Sunday and then my eye and sleeping pattern will be back to normal.

My Least Favorite Month

By | Uncategorized | 79 Comments
{Top: similar; Shorts: similar; Scarf: similar; Bag: The Sak; Ring: similarr}

August is my least favorite month. #1 It’s always so dang hot and #2 School starts back (I’m not in school anymore but the years of starting school in August have ruined the month for me)

I think my dislike for this particular month all started when my sister and I were the flower girls in an August wedding. Not only did we have to wear these big pink poofy dresses (we were both tom boys so naturally we hated the dresses) but it was also the hottest day of the year, right around 120 degrees. The wedding and reception were held indoors so you think we would be protected from the heat…WRONG! The power went out! And let me just tell you that a room, filled with people and no air conditioning, heats up rather quickly. One of the bridesmaids actually passed out during the ceremony. It was so miserably hot! And ever since then, I have hated the month of August. September please get here soon!

P.S. Thank you for all your sweet comments yesterday about me constantly wearing the same hair style and shoes. You made me feel better about my hair and shoe rut 🙂

Step 1: Admitting I Have A Problem

By | Uncategorized | 80 Comments
{Top: Target; Skirt: similar; Clutch: similar; Necklace: Nordstrom; Wedges: Guess; Ring: Premier Designs}

Someone recently commented that I have been wearing my hair the same way (parted down the middle with a braid on each side) a lot lately. And then my sister commented that I must really like my Guess shoes because I have been wearing them a lot. I’ve been in denial about just how much I favor these styles but now it is time for me to make a change! I promise to make a conscious effort to style my hair differently and to wear different shoes.

Step 1: Admitting I have a problem: My name is Kacie and I am in a hair and shoe rut.

I’m doing better already! I styled my hair differently! Aren’t you proud of me?!

Yes, I am still wearing the same shoes. Baby steps, people.

My Gymnastics Days

By | Uncategorized | 45 Comments
 {Top: similar; Skirt: similar similar; Shoes: Urban Outfitters; Bag: The Sak in red; Necklace: Premier Designs}

Have you been watching the Olympics? I have! One of my favorite events in Gymnastics (along with swimming, diving, and beach volleyball). Watching gymnastics takes me back to my gymnastics days.

You see, there was a 4 year old girl who, at any chance she had, would run and do flips. So that little girls mother decided to take her to the gymnastics open gym to see if she liked it. The first thing the girl did was get on the balance beam, cartwheel and then flip off. The coach saw great potential in this little girl  and immediately knew she had to have her on the gymnastics team. The girl loved it! But then, the coach began to push the little girl to do tricks she wasn’t ready for, causing the girl to not enjoy it anymore. Eventually, that little girl decided to quit gymnastics.

You all probably thought that story was about me, it is not. It’s about my sister. You see, I went to open gym every weekend with my sister but the coach never asked me to join gymnastics. I mean, I think I had great potential too. Sure, I was pigeon toed and would occasionally constantly trip over my feet. But I had heart gosh darn it! I could have been one of those success stories where someone rises above the odds to win a gold medal. Guess it’s time for me to find a new dream.

Taking Animal Print To A New Level

By | Daisy Rae | 78 Comments
 {Top: Daisy Rae; Shorts: Ella Moss similar; Bag: Kenneth Cole similar; Wedges: Guess; Necklace: Forever 21}

When I order clothing for my store, I will often send pictures to my mom and sister to get their opinions. When I first sent my mom a picture of this top, she said “Wow! Now that takes animal print to a whole new level!” (And then later when she tried it on, she loved it) So maybe this is a new level of animal print but I am lovin’ the level it’s on!!!

P.S. I promise you that I ironed these shorts before wearing them. I know it doesn’t look like it but I swear I did.

P.S. I’m linking up with Marionberry Trend of the Month: Mixed Prints. Does this outfit count as mixed prints? Snakeskin shoes with an animal print top? Barely?

The Magical Shower

By | Uncategorized | 49 Comments
{Top: similar; Romper: similar; Wedges: Guess; Bag; Kenneth Cole similar; Necklace: Nordstrom similar}

Let me tell you how quickly five minutes goes by when showering…like that! (I just snapped my figures) I thought my showers at home were quick but I was wrong. You see, the campground we stayed at has nice hot showers. However, these showers only last five minutes. And believe me, five minutes is not long enough.

Then, my mom discovered the broken magical shower. It never turned off! Hallelujah! I got to take a nice long shower without having to worry about the water shutting off 🙂 Of course, I thought I’d be nice and share this discovery with the hubby so that his next shower could be wonderfully long. Aren’t I thoughtful? Well, it turns out the magic ran out and instead of being a magical shower, it was a broken shower. His five minute shower was cold and hardly had any pressure. Ooops! How was I to know the magic wore off?

Follow me on Instagram if you want to see pictures from our trip 🙂

Reunited And It Feels So Good!

By | Daisy Rae | 48 Comments
{Top: Daisy Rae; Shorts: similar; Wedges: Guess; Bag: The Sak in red; Necklace: similar similar}

After camping for a week, most people would say they can’t wait to sleep in their own bed instead of in a trailer with a lab and a snoring bulldog. Not me! Although I do enjoy sleeping in my bed at home, the thing I look forward to reuniting with most is my blow dryer and straightener. The are so missed on camping trips! My natural curly frizzy mess I call hair topped with helmet hair is just not a good look for me. But at last I have been reunited with my hair tools and it feels so good great!

P.S. Thank you to the three awesome gals who took over the blog while I was gone! You all are the best!!!

On The Road…

By | Daisy Rae | 47 Comments
 {Top: similar; Skirt: Daisy Rae; Bag: The Sak in red; Wedges: Guess; Necklace: Premier Designs}

As you are reading this I’m “On the road again -Just can’t wait to get on the road again. The life I love is making music with my friends and I can’t wait to get on the road again” (that was me just busting out in song. You know, like they do in musicals).

Most people are surprised to hear that I ride quads (four-wheelers) in the sand dunes. They say that I don’t look like the type of person who would enjoy that. But I have being riding since I was two and love it. So the hubby and I are headed up to the Oregon dunes for a week. And any time I’m in a vehichle, I feel the need to sing. The hubby probably has a headache by now listing to my lovely singing voice. He’s one lucky guy to be seranaded by me for 9 hours. After a few hours of singing he usually tells me it’s quite/nap time.

Don’t be expecting any outfit photos while I’m gone. My riding gear and helemt hair isn’t my best look ever. Instead, I will have three of my blogging friends guest post 🙂
