Yesterday was mine and Cody’s 8 year wedding anniversary (11 years together), so over the weekend we headed to the beach in Capitola (Santa Cruz area) to celebrate. We like Capitola because it has such a cute little downtown area right along the beach. We stay at the Capitola Hotel which is across the street from the beach and near all the restaurants. Then in the morning we always walk from our hotel to a few of the popular surf spots in Santa Cruz to watch the surfers. Cody always says he wants to move here, but my hair is like NO. I always start out with my hair down but then it gets all frizzy and ugly from being near the beach so end up pulling it back. Anyways, if you guys go to Capitola/Santa Cruz you should definitely go to dinner at the Shadowbrook Restaurant. You take a cable car ride down to the restaurant which sits right along the river, and the food is delicious! We go every year and it never disappoints, but this years dinner was probably my favorite ever! I got one of the specials and I don’t even know how to pronounce what it was called but it was so so so good! I could seriously eat it every day for the rest of my life. Also their desserts are super good. Some other restaurant recommendations would be the Paradise Beach Grille for lunch and Linda’s Seabreeze Cafe for breakfast. Normally I’m not all about the food when we go places because I’m not much of a foodie, but I guess being pregnant has made me appreciate yummy food more. Haha! If you want to see more from out trip, you can watch the video above or watch it on YouTube here.

XO, Kacie
