I used to be a solid 9-10 hours a night sleeper (I’m an early to bed type of gal), and then I had Hazel, and I learned that I can function on way less sleep than I thought I needed. Haha! I also learned that lack of sleep really does cause dark circles and bags under eyes…not a good look on anyone. So for the past 6 months, I’ve basically been mastering the art of looking like you’ve slept for 12 hours when you really only slept for 2 hours and then woke up for a feeding and then slept for another two hours and woke up for another feed, and so on. So if you’re a mom or a college student studying for finals, or recovering from girls night, or whatever it is that’s getting in your way of sleep, here’s some tips and an amazing product to fake a well rested night 🙂

1.) Drink Water: Drinking a glass of water should be the first thing you do when you wake up. It gives your body the nourishment it needs to revive your tired body and skin. And be sure to continue to drink water throughout the day.

2.) Take a Shower: It’s easy to want to skip the shower when you wake up tired, but don’t. It will help wake you up and while you’re in there, you can exfoliate your skin to brighten it a bit.

3.) Don’t Neglect Your Under Eyes: Dark circle and bags under your eyes are a total giveaway. Clarins Multi-Active Eye combats it all. It smoothes out your fine lines, diminishes dark circles, brightens/illuminates, and has a cyro-metal tip applicator (it feels cool on your skin) to decrease puffiness. I use my ring finger to apply the product under my eyes, and then lightly press the the metal tip applicator from inner to outer corner of my eye. This product is a serious life saver for for refreshing your under eyes. And it’s light enough to wear under makeup, so don’t be afraid to top it off with a concealer if want.

4.) Highlight and Blush: Applying a little color and highlight to your cheeks will make you appear more alive an awake. To give the appearance of brighter eyes, line your lower water line with a white or nude liner and add a touch of highlight to the inner corners of your eyes.

Basically, it’s all about faking it ’til you make it 😉

XO, Kacie
