It’s crazy to think that we’ll meet baby sister in less than two months! Hazel is obsessed with baby sister (and all things baby). It’s so cute! The nursery is almost complete and Hazel always wants to play in it. When she sees baby clothes, she gets this cute high pitch voice and says “Awww”, and then she asks me to put the clothes on her baby dolls. I have a feeling she’s going to want to be my helper when baby sister arrives. And I also have a feeling we’re going to have to work on being very gentle. Ha!

How Far Along: 33 Weeks

Size of Baby: About the size of a pineapple

Total Weight Gained: 19 lbs…the same amount I’d gained by this point in my pregnancy with Hazel. I’m surprised I haven’t gained more because I’ve been eating more sweets this time.

Wearing Maternity Clothes?: Yes. I’ve been in maternity jeans for a while (even when I could fit into my regular jeans) because they’re so comfortable. But I can still wear some non-maternity tops and dresses.

Baby’s Position: Breech. She’s taking after her older sister already. Hazel was breech and this baby is in the same exact position as Hazel was, with her butt down, head up, and limbs all out to my right. I feel all the movement on my right side just like I did with Hazel, so going into my appointment, I kind of knew they’d say she was breech. I’m preparing myself for her to have hip dysplasia like Hazel did too. She was already at a higher risk to have hip dysplasia (girls are more likely to have it, and once you have on child with it, you’re more likely to have other kids with it), and now with being breech, she’s even more likely to.

Stretch Marks?: No…well, maybe a few on my butt. Ha! I didn’t get stretch marks on my belly with Hazel so I’m hoping I don’t get them this time either.

Symptoms: I’m thirsty all the time and have to pee a lot. I’ve also been congested. I’ve heard congestion can be a pregnancy symptom, but it could also just be a cold, so I don’t know…

Movement: Yes! My absolute favorite part of being pregnant!

Sleep: I’ve been sleeping pretty good most nights. I toss and turn more than I normally do, but it doesn’t disrupt my sleep too much. I get up once or twice at night to pee.

Food Cravings: Chocolate, chai tea, and basically all the sweets. With Hazel, I craved apples, so my cravings this time definitely aren’t as healthy.

Gender: Girl (see our smoke bomb gender reveal here)

Name: We’ve had the name picked out since a few months after Hazel was born (obviously, it was before I was pregnant), and we’re still sticking with that name. But we’re keeping it a secret until she’s born.

Birth Plan: Scheduled c-section. With already having had a c-section, I had decided to go through with another c-section instead of having a VBAC, and now that the baby is breech, I don’t really have the option of a VBAC, so a c-section is still my plan.

XO, Kacie
