I usually always have my outfits planned out the night before, especially if I know we are going somewhere special (i.e. somewhere other than the grocery store). But a couple weekends ago when we (me and my sister + our husbands) headed to Apple Hill with all of our girlfriends, I did not have an outfit planned ahead of time and getting dressed that morning was disastrous. My closet looked like a tornado had hit. Ha! The problem was that I had really hoped it was going to be cold so I could wear a cozy sweater and boots. And sure, every day when I checked the weather, it said it was going to be in the 70’s, but I was holding out hope that mother nature would change her mind or that the weather man was wrong. She didn’t change her mind and the weatherman wasn’t wrong so… seven outfits later, I finally decided on this one, and I actually really love it. Of course, we all know how much I love a dress + moto jacket combo (exhibit A, B & C).

Ok, now can we talk about my adorable niece, Stevie Rae. Did you see her facial expression in that last picture? Is she not the cutest?!  I’ve gotten to spend the last two weekends with her and it’s been the best. The first of the two weekends we went to Apple Hill (where she got the apple she’s holding and loved packing it around, but kept dropping it/throwing it to Uncle Cody, so it was completely bruised by the end of the day. lol) and then we went trick-or-treating (Stevie was a ballerina skeleton). And for this last weekend/my birthday weekend we went on a hike, and Stevie walked most of it all by herself. She absolutely loved it and so did I! I’m so lucky that my family came to visit me for my birthday 🙂 I also got a birthday kiss from Stevie which was really exciting because kisses from her are rare to come by (she prefers blowing kisses instead. lol).

XO, Kacie
