Fall never arrives early enough in California. It’s September and we’ve had temps in the 100’s. Ugh! By this time of year, I’m over summer clothes and ready for fall clothes. But with it being super hot, I can’t exactly wear cozy sweaters, so I have a three tricks to help give my outfits the fall vibe while still keeping me cool in the heat.

-Wear Summer Pieces in Fall Colors: Darker colors give off the feel of fall even if the item itself is more summer-y, like shorts or a skirt. I swapped out my light washed denim shorts for black ones and it instantly takes the outfit. from summer to fall.

-Wear Booties: Nothing says fall like a great pair of booties. Pair them with shorts and dresses while it’s still hot out.

-Tie a Jacket or Shirt Around Your Waist: It gives you the look of layering without out actually layering and making yourself too hot. A plaid flannel, chambray shirt, denim jacket, etc…they all look great tied around the waist of a breezy dress or shorts + shirt combo.
