My nephew, Shad, turns one tomorrow and I can’t believe it! He’s such a big boy! He’s so snuggly and huggable, gives the best kisses, and he’s totally a tough and wild little thing too. He was born six weeks premature and one week before his baby shower which we had to cancel, so we were super excited to finally get to celebrate our Shad Man! My mom, sister, and I put together a Where the Wild Things Are party (my mom made all the decorations because she’s super crafty like that), and we celebrated with friends, yummy food, and a fun photo booth. Shad celebrated by sneaking into the bathroom and pulling out all the toilet paper. Haha! And can we talk about that last picture of him and his smash cake? He absolutely hated it and it was the funniest thing ever! I just love that little wild nephew of mine! Happy (one day early) Birthday Shad!

XO, Kacie

Hi! I’m trying to put together a Wild One birthday party for my baby carter! His birthday is coming up quick and we are having trouble finding the right decor or the right materials to make our own! I’ve looked at a lot of the wild one birthday posts and I absolutely adore the way you guys did yours! Too sweet! Do you have any tips on places to get these things/decorations ?

How exciting that your little one is turing one soon! Happy early Birthday to Carter! Everything we used was found at Michaels, Walmart, or around the house. The one banner and crown were made with felt, the tent was made with a drop cloth (like for protecting your floor when you paint), block letters were found at Michaels and we painted them, then decorated them with moss bought at Michaels, sticks found outside, or felt (for the white scales). The crowns we wore are made from toilet paper rolls and spray painted gold. The crowns on the cupcake are made from lollipop sticks and card stock paper. The ivy was taken from my grandpa’s back yard. I hope that helps!
