This is one of those days where you just don’t feel like coming up with an outfit and getting dressed. But since running around naked is frowned upon in most societies, I had to find something to wear. It’s times like these that I turn to pinterest and bloggers for inspiration. I pretty much copied my look from For All That Jas. So lets all thank Jas for helping to get me clothed this morning. Thanks you Jas! 🙂
You all are going to be so jealous of the new footwear I will be getting! It’s going to be custom made just for my feet. Pretty cool, uh? You can take a gander at what it will look like here. Don’t lie, you know you wish you could be as cool as me. Most people have to suffer an injury before than can get this custom made footwear but not me…I was just born awesome! And by awesome I mean with posterior tibial tendonitis, along with some other foot problems. See, told you you would be jealous.
My middle name is Rae so my sister would always tell me I was her “little ‘rae’ of sunshine”. (Awww! Isn’t she the sweetest!) And every time I wear this skirt I feel like a “rae” of sunshine. I’m just walking around literally brightening peoples day in this skirt. Not that anyone needs more sunshine around here. It’s been above 100 the past week so we have been getting plenty of sun without my skirt.

Guess what y’all… I got a new camera!!! I’m still working on figuring it out but so far I love it. My goal is to master the art of a blurry background. Luckily my cousin is a professional photographer and offered to teach me how to use it. Pretty soon I will be a pro…or I should say the hubby will be a pro since he’s the one who has to take my pictures.
Having a new camera makes me feel all fancy and sophisticated. I can now take pictures with people around. Well, almost. I no longer run and hide when a car drives by so I’m making progress.
P.S. Daisy Rae is having a site wide 30% OFF SALE! Use code: summersale at checkout 🙂
I feel like I need to confess something. I’ve been trying to hide it and keep is a secret from you for a while now but here goes…my hair is lopsided. The right side is about an inch longer that the left. I have been trying to tilt my head a little so that you can’t tell. I even cut the longer side myself about a month and a half ago to even it out but it just grew longer again. Apparently, my left side just can’t keep up with the right. Don’t worry, I finally got around to making an appointment with my hairdresser (but since I live 2.5 hours away from her I have to wait until the 25th). And trust me, it gets pretty tiring walking around with your head tilted to one side.
P.S. Again, just ignore the wrinkles 😉
I have been addicted to the Olympics for the past two weeks. Which means that I have been staying up until midnight every night because of course, they save the events that you really want to watch for last. And let me tell you, I am not a night person. I never have been. Even as a baby, I was an excellent sleeper; one of the many reasons I was the angel child (just don’t ask my parents or sister to confirm that statement).
When I’m sleepy, I get a droopy eye. My one eye just does not want to stay open. So for the past week+ , I have been walking around with a droopy eye. And that is why I’m not looking at the camera in these pictures. I’m trying to hide it. I just have until Sunday and then my eye and sleeping pattern will be back to normal.
Wear’s Kacie today? (Get it? Like Where’s Waldo, only I spelled it like you wear clothing. Haha! I know you wish you were as funny and clever as me!)
Today I’m am guest blogging for Britt at The Secondhand Magpie. Go check it out to see more outfit photos and to hear about my glorious soccer days that weren’t all that glorious.

August is my least favorite month. #1 It’s always so dang hot and #2 School starts back (I’m not in school anymore but the years of starting school in August have ruined the month for me)
I think my dislike for this particular month all started when my sister and I were the flower girls in an August wedding. Not only did we have to wear these big pink poofy dresses (we were both tom boys so naturally we hated the dresses) but it was also the hottest day of the year, right around 120 degrees. The wedding and reception were held indoors so you think we would be protected from the heat…WRONG! The power went out! And let me just tell you that a room, filled with people and no air conditioning, heats up rather quickly. One of the bridesmaids actually passed out during the ceremony. It was so miserably hot! And ever since then, I have hated the month of August. September please get here soon!
P.S. Thank you for all your sweet comments yesterday about me constantly wearing the same hair style and shoes. You made me feel better about my hair and shoe rut 🙂
Someone recently commented that I have been wearing my hair the same way (parted down the middle with a braid on each side) a lot lately. And then my sister commented that I must really like my Guess shoes because I have been wearing them a lot. I’ve been in denial about just how much I favor these styles but now it is time for me to make a change! I promise to make a conscious effort to style my hair differently and to wear different shoes.
Step 1: Admitting I have a problem: My name is Kacie and I am in a hair and shoe rut.
I’m doing better already! I styled my hair differently! Aren’t you proud of me?!
Yes, I am still wearing the same shoes. Baby steps, people.
Have you been watching the Olympics? I have! One of my favorite events in Gymnastics (along with swimming, diving, and beach volleyball). Watching gymnastics takes me back to my gymnastics days.
You see, there was a 4 year old girl who, at any chance she had, would run and do flips. So that little girls mother decided to take her to the gymnastics open gym to see if she liked it. The first thing the girl did was get on the balance beam, cartwheel and then flip off. The coach saw great potential in this little girl and immediately knew she had to have her on the gymnastics team. The girl loved it! But then, the coach began to push the little girl to do tricks she wasn’t ready for, causing the girl to not enjoy it anymore. Eventually, that little girl decided to quit gymnastics.
You all probably thought that story was about me, it is not. It’s about my sister. You see, I went to open gym every weekend with my sister but the coach never asked me to join gymnastics. I mean, I think I had great potential too. Sure, I was pigeon toed and would
occasionally constantly trip over my feet. But I had heart gosh darn it! I could have been one of those success stories where someone rises above the odds to win a gold medal. Guess it’s time for me to find a new dream.
