I’ve never been a big nail art person because, let’s face it, I’m not talented or skilled enough for it. Ha! I can barely paint my nails normally without getting the polish all over my entire hand. My motto when painting nails is, “it will Read More

One of the most exciting things about the town we live in now…it has an ULTA Beauty! Until now, I’d never lived in a town that has one, so this is pretty exciting stuff for me 🙂 Needless to say, I’ve made many visits to ULTA Beauty lately, and my want list is growing. Some of these items are tried and true favorites I’ve ran out of and need to purchase again, and others are Read More
There’s an old saying, the couple that whitens their teeth together, stays together…or something like that 🙂 I’ve talked about Smile Brilliant before in this post, and I finally convinced Cody that using Smile Brilliant won’t hurt his sensitive teeth. And guess what? I was right! If you have sensitive teeth though, then it might be a good idea to check out something like this fluoridex rinse to help you deal with your sensitivity.
I’ve been using Smile Brilliant for a little over a year, and it is definitely one of my favorite teeth whitening products. Prior to Smile Brilliant, custom fitted trays were only available at the dentist office for $500+. But now thanks to Smile Brilliant, you can get professional level teeth whitening at home for Read More
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I have my two go-to hairstyles (down with textured waves, and a low messy bun), but I actually can style my hair different ways. These are my four favorite ways to style my shoulder length hair…of course two of them you’ve seen many times before. Haha! I also like to do a top knot with face framing pieces (like in this post), but ever since I got that horrible hair cut a month ago that I absolutely hate, my hair is slightly too short to do a top knot 🙁 Anyways, I hope you like these styles!
I’m trying to play around with my hair more to come up with other styles too, so if you know of any easy hairstyles, let me know 🙂 I usually wear my hair the same two ways in my blog posts because I take all my pictures on the same day each week and just change outfits in my car, and those two hairstyles are the easiest to do in a car without a good mirror to look at.
I wish I was talented enough to put on false lashes so I could have super thick and amazing lashes, but I’m not. Womp! Womp! Seriously though, I cannot be the only one who struggles with it. Every time I try, my false lashes end up hanging half way off with globs of glue. I admire anyone who has mastered the art of putting on falsies. Big round of applause to you! Lucky for me (and everyone else who struggles with false lashes), there’s an easier way to get full lashes.

I know, I know, everybody has been raving about the Clarisonic for a few years now, and I’m a little late to the discovery of its amazing-ness. But I was never sure if it was worth spending the money on when there were so many less expensive options out there. Spoiler Alert: The Clarisonic is most definitely worth it (and it’s currently on sale)!
I used the Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System for about a year before Cody surprised me with the Clarisonic Mia 2 (my best friend, Jordan, had been trying to get me to buy one for years, and when Cody needed help picking out my Christmas gifts, she told him I needed the Clarisonic. Thanks Jordan! 🙂 ) I did really like the Olay system. I noticed that it made my skin a lot softer, and my skin felt cleaner than if I were to just wash my face with my hands. For only $40 it’s totally worth it. But it still doesn’t compare to the Clarisonic Mia 2.
The Clarisonic gives such a deeper clean than other products. Prior to using the Clarisonic, I had been getting Read More
Why does everyone talk about dry winter skin, but you never hear about dry summer skin? I live in the dry, dry, dry and hot, hot, hot California summer sun, and my skin gets so dry in the summer! I guess that’s the price I pay for not living in the humidity. My hair thanks me (no frizz!), and my skin punishes me. Needless to say, moisturizing is a must!
I started using bliss products to moisturize with after discovering the bliss Fabulips ‘Pout’-O-Matic Lip Perfecting System about a year ago and falling in love with it! I figured if it works for the dry skin on my lips, why not try other bliss products to moisturize my body? Bliss offers powerful products so you can achieve spa-like treatments at home. They even offer a Read More
Yes, I make out with my jar of coconut oil sometimes because that is how much I LOVE it! I use coconut oil for so many different DIY beauty items (I’ve never once cooked with it. Ha!), but my favorite beauty use for coconut oil is in my hair. I do this once a week and it really makes a huge difference.
To be honest, you can actually skip a couple of these steps to make it even easier, and you’ll still see amazing results. If you Read More
When a new season rolls around, I get so excited to find new lipsticks and to start wearing my seasonal favorites. I have a few higher end lip products, but for the most part, I prefer to buy from the drugstore because they are so much more affordable (I’d rather spend my money on clothes. Who’s with me?! 😉 ). Below are my picks for the best drugstore lipsticks for spring and summer:
~Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs: Nude Lust~
Being so fair skinned, I have a difficult time finding nude lipstick that doesn’t wash me out. I love that this shade has a gorgeous pinky-brown tint to it while still being nude. It looks so great with a smokey eye!
~NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream: Istanbul~
This is my first NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and let me tell you, I am hooked! (Thanks Shanna for the recommendation!) This color is very close to my natural lip color and has been my go-to lately. I have really dry lips and sometimes matte colors can be even more drying on my lips but not this one! The color is going to be so perfect year-round!
~Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom: Power Peony~
I have been on the hunt for a pinky-purple shade for spring and hallelujah I have found it! This color screams spring and summer.
~Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Balm Stain: Cherish~
I have five colors of the Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Balm Stain collection (the color “honey” is my all time favorite), but each spring and summer, I find myself reaching for the color “cherish”. It’s a really pretty light pink color. This is the color I wish my lips were naturally.
~Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids: Shocking Coral~
I use the Revlon Color Stay Lip Liner in nude with all my lipstick colors. It matches my lips perfectly and blends well with all colors, from reds, to pink, to nudes, to bights, to pastels. Also, I have really really dry lips (it’s a curse I’ve struggled with my entire life). I use the Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub and it really helps to take off the dead/dry skin. The EOS Read More
