BLACK + GREY

Remember how in middle school, the nurse would check everyone for scoliosis? Well one year, the nurse thought I might have it and wanted to send me to some special doctor to get my back looked at. The nurse said my heavy backpack and “one-strapping” it was hurting my back. So what did my parents do? They made me use a rolling backpack! Ugh! Those things were the worse. I had come up with a master plan to get rid of it…with the help of my friends, we were going to break it. We’d give each other rides on it and jump off curbs with it, and on one glorious day, it finally broke! I took it to my dad and acted all sad about breaking my backpack (I didn’t want to get in trouble for doing it on purpose) and guess what?! He got out some tools and fixed it! I swear that thing was indestructible! I finally went to the doctor and he said my back was good and I finally broke the rolling backpack beyond repair so I got to go back to my regular cool backpack. The doctor did tell me that from then on, I needed to wear my backpack properly and I think nowadays the kids are “two strapping” it but I’m a 90’s kid and I just can’t help but stick with the one strap. Old habits die hard.
P.S. This backpack also has top handles so it can be carried like a purse too 🙂

I pinned this outfit a while ago and have been wanting to recreate the look ever sense. Only one problem…I didn’t have an olive green tee. Or did I? When I was cleaning out my closet/reorganizing it, I found my olive green tee that I had completely forgotten about. Cody said it’s a sign I have too many clothes but I say it’s a sign I need a bigger closet so I can see my clothes better. I think we can all agree that I’m right 😉

I have been really loving my classic closet staples lately. And since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day (a.k.a. the day of love), why not wear all the closet staples I love in one outfit? Sure, this isn’t your typical Valentine’s Day post filled with pink and red and hearts but it is filled with love and that’s what matters. I kind of forgot how much I love my leather skirt (which is currently on sale!) since it’s been winter and I don’t look at my skirts much in the winter. I don’t like tights so I usually only bust out skirts when it’s warm enough to go bared legged. If you don’t own a black leather skirt, I urge you to get one! Also, I feel like I need to thank my sister again for giving me her tan coat. That right there is sisterly-love.

It was super nice weather the beginning of last week and then it rained for 4 days straight, and I wore this outfit the entire time it rained. Ok, that’s an exaggeration. Two of the four days I didn’t even get out of my comfy clothes but the other two days, I wore this outfit. I probably should have traded the heels for boots but I liked the heels with the outfit better so I sacrificed my feet in the name of fashion. Of course, I waited to take pictures until the rain storm was over so I guess that means I’ve worn this outfit three out of the last five days. Time to find a new outfit to wear stat!

A chambray shirt and black jeans are two of my favorite closet staples. I mean three out of my last four outfit posts have been with black jeans…and the other was grey jeans which is practically faded black. So yeah, I love black jeans. I’m pretty sure there is like a million ways to wear the chambray shirt + black jeans combo…with fancy heels + statement necklace, with sneakers, etc. Yes, I know I only listed two ways but I know there are more, I just can’t think of them right now because it’s the morning and I’m sleepy. Anyways, the moral of this story is that if you don’t already own black jeans and a chambray shirt, you need to buy them asap! And may I suggest American Eagle jeans. I’m wearing the High Rise Jeggings and they fit just like my J Brand jeans but are way way less expensive. I think AE jeans might be my new go-to.
P.S. These sales are still going on 🙂
