easy braided hair crown step-by-step tutorial

I’m finally sharing one of my most highly requested posts! This braided crown hair style is sooooo easy, takes less then 5 minutes, and always gets tons of compliments. I prefer my front, face-framing pieces to be a little shorter than they are in these photos, but it’s been forever since I last cut my hair (#momlife), and I’m trying to wait until right before baby #2’s due date to get my hair cut and colored because I know I won’t have time for a hair cut once the baby arrives and I have two kiddos to take care of. Anyways, I hope you like the tutorial 🙂

STEP 1: PREP YOUR HAIR

I actually don’t do anything to my hair to prep it, but if you have fine hair, you’ll want to add some texture spray to it first. I have really coarse hair so my hair already has a lot of grit to it which allows me to skip this step. You can start with your hair wavy or straight for this hair style.

STEP 2: DIVIDE & BRAID

Split your hair into two sections down the middle and braid each section creating two pigtail braids. Secure each braid with a small plastic rubber band.

STEP 3: PIN HAIR IN PLACE

Fold the braids up onto of your head, and use bobby pins to secure in place. Hairspray any flyaways.

TADA! That’s it! So simple, right?!
