“You always want what you can’t have.” That is so true when it comes to hair. People with fine, silky hair want volume, people with curly hair want smoother, less frizzy hair, etc. In my case, I have thick, coarse hair, and I want more shine. My biggest hair struggle is that my hair gets very dry and dull (especially on the ends). I use a lot of heat on my hair which causes hair damage. It makes my hair feel and look “blah”. And when my hair extension looks and feels “blah”, I feel “blah”. It totally ruins my confidence. When I have a bad hair day, I don’t like my makeup or my outfit, and I usually just want to stay home with my hair up in a ponytail or hiding under a hat. But life is too short to have a bad hair day or let a bad hair day ruin your mood and confidence. So when Pantene asked me to take part in their 14 Day Challenge, I, of course, said YES! I was ready to say “goodbye bad hair day” and “hello great hair day”. And let me tell you, I saw a huge difference in my hair (as you can see from the pictures above). Pantene has a hair care line for every hair type, so no matter what your hair struggle is, Pantene can help you achieve more great hair days too.
My hair has damage from hot tools and coloring it, so I was looking for a way to fix my damaged hair and get healthy hair again, so I used the Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s the best shampoo for damaged hair. It not only cleanses your hair, but the shampoo smooths your hair cuticles and reinforces the outer layer to both repair your hair from damage and protect it from any further damage. The conditioner has the same formula as the shampoo to add another layer of smoothing protection. I always like to leave my conditioner in for a couple minutes to really give it time to work its magic.
Just after the very first wash, I noticed my hair seemed silkier. I could comb my fingers through my hair without it being tangled up in knots and pulling out strands. I’m already dealing with postpartum hair loss, so I don’t need to lose any more hair from trying to comb through tangles. Ha! After my second wash on day 7, my hair was noticeably more shine-y. I started to get compliments from friends and even strangers. I could already tell a difference in my hair, and the compliments I was getting confirmed that my hair was looking better. Plus, it gave me a big confidence boost too. Days 7-14 were amazing! My hair was shiny, I didn’t have all the fly-aways I used to have, and my hair seemed stronger overall. I don’t remember having one bad hair day during that week (well, other than the day that Hazel decided it’d be fun to paint my hair. Haha!) But seriously, having a great hair day, gave me so much confidence and made me feel good about myself. When I feel good about myself, I feel like I can take on more… playdates with other moms/kids (I’m kind of shy so this is a big deal), picnics at the park, housework, shopping, etc. It makes me so much more productive. I’ve always been someone who likes to get ready every day, even if I’m just staying at home, because when I feel good about how I look, I have a better attitude and get so much more accomplished in my day, which makes me a happier person. So for me, having a good hair day is about so much more than just my hair.
If you’re feeling like you’re in a hair rut with too many bad hair days, I highly encourage you to take the Pantene 14 Day Hair Challenge. Having a great hair day is not only good for your hair, but it’s good for your confidence, self-esteem, and attitude too.
