You guys might remember that I got my hair colored (or is highlighted the correct term?) for the first time in October. I knew nothing about maintaining colored hair and had no clue that the highlights will actually begin to fade over time, which means more trips to the salon in order to keep the color looking at it’s best. Not only is it expensive to constantly be going to the salon, but it’s so time consuming. Especially because I still go to my hairdresser in my hometown which is over 2 hours away. Because of the distance, I only go to the salon twice a year. Obviously with the new color/highlight, I was in need of an easy at-home treatment to maintain my light locks. And I say I need “easy” because one time I did an at-home color on one of my friends and totally dyed his ear black. Oops! Haha! But luckily for my ears, John Frieda came out with some new products, the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ Subtle Lightening Shampoo/Conditioner and Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ In-Shower Treatment, and they are so easy to use! They also have the Brilliant Brunette Visibly Deeper and the Sheer Blonde Go Blonder so you can choose whichever is best for your hair color 🙂 You guys, this stuff works! I concentrated the visibly brighter products mainly on the ends of my hair because that’s the area I wanted to be lightened. I feel like the in-shower treatment showed an obvious difference right away. It only lightens your natural spectrum, so your hair won’t look bleached or orange, which is always my biggest fear (well, that and bees and spiders). And the shampoo and conditioner gradually brightens your hair so it’s perfect for maintaining the lighter color. The Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter products have definitely helped my hair last the 6 months in between salon visits and for that, I am grateful 🙂 You can learn all about the products here.

P.S. Right now the products are all on an end cap display in Target until 3/5, so it’s super easy to find them in the store. You should definitely try the products for yourself! And when you buy three products, you get a $5 Target gift card.

XO, Kacie
