WAYS TO PRACTICE SELF CARE DURING QUARANTINE

It’s week 6 of being in self-isolation. How’s everyone doing? 

Being quarantined at home with kids can feel draining at times. You’re giving so much of your time and energy to caring for them, teaching them, guiding them, cooking, cleaning, ect. With the distraction of outings and playdates. But being at home for 6 weeks with the kids has been really fulfilling too. I’ve been focusing on self care + spending extra time with the girls, and we’ve created a nice little routine. 

Below are some self care ideas you can do at home while in quarantine that will really help to boost your mood, help you enjoy this time at home more, and self care will also help you to become a more calm and patient parent 🙂

 

  • Keep in touch with friends and family via FaceTime or Zoom
  • Paint your nails
  • At Home spa night
  • Listen to a podcast or audio book  
  • Do a craft
  • Get dressed and ready in the morning
  • Walk up before your kids
  • Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea
  • Spend time outside
  • Go for a walk
  • Exercise
  • Read a book
  • Binge watch your favorite show
  • Buy flowers (add them to your next grocery order or pick flowers while on a walk), and display them on your table.
  • Light a candle after the kids go to bed
  • Diffuse essential oils
  • Take a bath or a long shower
  • Listen to music (and do nothing else)
  • Recite words of affirmation
  • Do an at home meditation
  • Put down your phone a be in the present moment  
  • Play with your kids with no distractions
  • Bake bread or cookies
  • Have a dance party
