I’ve been wanting to give our bedroom a little update for a while but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it because we just landscaped our backyard, which cost $$$$$, and we have other house projects that are higher up on our list than bedroom decor. I spent less than $100 on our bedroom makeover and it totally feels like a new room! I still need to purchase a rug and I have an entire wall that it completely bare that I need to figure out how to decorate, but that stuff will just have to wait. Anyways, I thought I’d share my tips for decorating on a budget 🙂
- Shop Your Home: Moving pieces from one room to another can give new life to old items. The faux plant used to be in the corner of our dining room, collecting dust. But now it brings so much life into our bedroom (and hopefully I remember to dust it more often. Ha!). And the statue horse head used to be on a table in our living room but we had to move it because Hazel was trying to pull it over on herself, and I love it’s new home in our bedroom.
- Rearrange Your Furniture: Another great way to freshen up a space without spending any money at all is to move your furniture around. I moved both the full length mirror and the dresser, and it made our room feel so much bigger even though the same amount of furniture was in it.
- Frequently Browse Your Favorite Discount Stores: I’m constantly looking at Groopdealz, Marshalls, and Homegoods. I found my greenery prints at Groopdealz for $4 each (frames not included) and my bedding is from Groopdealz also for under $70. The good deals go fast though so you’ve got to be on the look out so you don’t miss anything 🙂
- Paint: A little paint goes a long way (see our kitchen remodel for proof). The dresser was actually my great aunts but with a fresh coat of paint (and new knobs), it looks brand new.
