The holiday season is my absolute favorite! There are so many fun Christmas activities to do and Christmas festivals/parties to attend, and you get to spend time with your friends and family, and I just love it! So far this year, we’ve gone to a Christmas parade with my family, attended a Christmas festival to meet Santa, went on a carriage ride, and attended my nieces ballet recital. And we still have ice skating, gingerbread house making, and our big family Christmas Eve dinner party on our list of fun to be had this season.

As a stay-at-home mom, I look for any excuse to get dressed up, and I’ve been having so much fun planning my outfits and hairstyles for the holiday season. When I was at Walmart buying some wrapping paper and cottage cheese (Hazel loves cottage cheese and we were all out), I found some limited-edition Herbal Essences Holiday packs for only $9.88! All the products in the pack would normally be $16 so I thought it was a great deal! I got the Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner Holiday Pack. It comes with Totally Twisted Curl Boosting mousse and dry shampoo. It has added so much volume to my hair. The curl boosting mousse gives your hair a really strong hold, plus it has frizz control which is amazing with all the moisture that’s in the air from the rain. I have naturally curly hair and any time there’s moisture in the air, my hair gets frizzy. I need all the help I can get to control it. Haha! The dry shampoo is perfect for adding a little extra volume, and for making your hairstyle last a few days (or weeks in my case…you all know I only wash my hair once every two weeks. Ha!). I just love this gift pack! It’s given me some inspiration for a couple holiday hair styles, so I thought I’d share them with you.

How To Get Voluminous Waves

My regular everyday curls look so much more fabulous with the extra volume I get from the Hello Hydration pack.

Step1: I washed my hair with the Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner. I only apply the conditioner to the ends of my hair to keep my hair hydrated, but to avoid weighing down the volume at my roots.

Step 2: I applied the Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse to my damp hair to give my hair extra hold and frizz control.

Step 3: I flipped my head upside down to blow it dry.

Step 4: curled 1 inch sections away from my hair using a 1 inch curling iron.

Step 5: I ran a straighter over the ends of my hair.

Step 6: I sprayed dry shampoo at the roots to give it a little extra volume.

Adding a braid is a fun way to make any hairstyle feel more special.

Step 1: I started with dry, curled hair, and sprayed some dry shampoo on my entire head to add a bit of grit to my hair to make it easier to braid.

Step 2: I pulled the top half of my hair up, leaving out a few face-framing pieces and secured it with a hair tie.

Step 3: I did a topsy tail with my ponytail, and then wrapped some hair around the hair tie to hide it.

Step 4: I fishtail braided the ponytail.

Step 5: I secured the braid with a hair tie and wrapped some hair around it to hide the hair tie.

Herbal Essences Holiday Hair

It has been so fun to play around with this Herbal Essences holiday pack and come up with new hairstyles. There are four different sets so you and choose the one that would be best for your hair type. It would make a great gift for any girl on your list too!
